Responsible for the development of extensive international, national and professional networks including being an invited only member of the International Network of Directors of Applied Arts Museums.
Increased on-site visitation from 400,000 (2014) to 830,000 (2018) & 60,000+ student and teachers (2018)
The development of a five-year strategic plan, an aligned organisational structure and the planning, implementation, and rollout of a restructuring process
The development and launch of a new brand strategy as well as digital communication platforms including the launch of a new online collection website
Directed the delivery of two major capital works projects that were a focus for 2014-18 including the construction and delivery of a major collection storage facility and visible collection display store at the Museums Discovery Centre, Castle Hill that brought together three major collections of international significance with associated educational and community facilities
The development of a masterplan and business case for the Powerhouse Museum
Led a multi-agency group on the development of a business case and international design competition to spearhead the planning and delivery for a new museum in Sydney’s west.
Responsible for the redevelopment of the Powerhouse Museum galleries to deliver better access, improved visitor facilities and exhibition spaces
Fostered a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship including the development of strategic tertiary sector partnerships
Created a more varied income base through fundraising and commercial development including a three-year partnership with Sydney Airport Corporations to develop a children’s digital play space
The development of a masterplan for the heritage listed Sydney Observatory
The development of a research and strategic collections framework and policy as well as Australian Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property Protocols and a Reconciliation Action Plan
The development and implementation of an ambitious cultural program including exhibitions, events, performances, installations, commissions, educational activities and residencies to attract and growing increasingly diverse audiences
The launch of the MAAS Centre for STEAM as the catalyst behind the Museum’s Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics initiatives
The establishment of the MAAS Centre for Fashion, the first such centre of excellence in an Australian cultural institution, as well as developing strategic partnerships with the Australian Fashion Chamber and the fashion industry
The relaunch and rebranding of two major festivals, Sydney Design Festival and Sydney Science Festival
